LA Stadium & Entertainment District at Hollywood Park
Bespoke sliding steel bearings supplied for the steel structure LA Stadium

Details

The Los Angeles Stadium and Entertainment District at Hollywood Park has transformed the site of the former Hollywood Park Racetrack to a year-round sports and entertainment destination for the enjoyment of people throughout Southern California as well as visitors to the region. The centerpiece of the district is a 70,000-seat stadium (SoFi stadium) that is the home of NFL games for both the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams. The state-of-the-art stadium re-imagines the fan experience and is able to host a variety of events year-round including Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the College Football Championship Game in 2023, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic Games in 2028.

In 2019, IEC designed and fabricated bespoke sliding bearings installed between stadium truss frame and sub-structure to reduce friction for the SOFI Stadium.
