On July 28, 2023, the 31st Summer World University Games officially commenced in Chengdu, marking the first time a comprehensive world-class sporting event was held in western China. Key Infrastructure Projects
· East-West City Axis: This 150-kilometer corridor, with its eastern section spanning 32.8 kilometers from the Second Ring Road to Longquanyi District, served as a crucial transportation link. Designed with 10 main lanes and 4 auxiliary lanes, it ensured seamless connectivity between Dong’an Lake Sports Center and Chengdu’s dual airports.
· Dong’an Lake Bridge: A focal point of the Games’ infrastructure, this bridge was part of the “1 tunnel and 3 roads” plan surrounding the main venue.
