IEC Contributes to Infrastructure for the 31st Summer World University Games in Chengdu

On July 28, 2023, the 31st Summer World University Games officially commenced in Chengdu, marking the first time a comprehensive world-class sporting event was held in western China. As a local enterprise, IEC Inc. played a vital role in supporting the Games by leveraging its innovative solutions. The company contributed to the construction of key infrastructure projects, including the East-West City Axis and the Dong’an Lake Bridge, supplying bridge bearings and expansion joints valued at over 10 million yuan.

Key Infrastructure Projects

· East-West City Axis: This 150-kilometer corridor, with its eastern section spanning 32.8 kilometers from the Second Ring Road to Longquanyi District, served as a crucial transportation link. Designed with 10 main lanes and 4 auxiliary lanes, it ensured seamless connectivity between Dong’an Lake Sports Center and Chengdu’s dual airports.

· Dong’an Lake Bridge: A focal point of the Games’ infrastructure, this bridge was part of the “1 tunnel and 3 roads” plan surrounding the main venue.
