IEC Secures Major Contract for the China Communications Construction Xinjiang Wuwei Highway PPP Project

In December 2022, IEC Inc. was officially awarded the twelfth batch of material supply (bridge bearings) for the China Communications Construction Xinjiang Wuwei Highway PPP project. The contract, valued at ¥40,493,396 (US$ 578M), further underscores IEC’s comprehensive strength and market recognition.

The Xinjiang Wuwei Highway PPP project encompasses five key routes:

· Urumqi to Yuli,

· Yuli to the 35th Regiment,

· 35th Regiment to Ruoqiang,

· Etunbulake to Ruoqiang,

· Yuli to Qiemo.


Spanning a total length of 1,305 kilometers, with a total estimated investment of ¥76.1 billion, the project represents the largest PPP initiative under construction in China. As part of the Belt and Road Initiative, the project is integral to China’s “Transportation Powerhouse” strategy and the development of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The project’s massive scale, harsh natural environment, and complex engineering challenges highlight its significance as a pilot program for the initiative.
